Ramsay pharmacies provide first aid supplies to bushfire communities
Ramsay Pharmacy has found a way to support locals affected by recent bushfires in Australia, after noticing a growing demand for first aid supplies.
After identifying this trend, pharmacy team members wanted to provide meaningful and practical help to communities in these fire-ravaged areas.
Ramsay Pharmacy’s merchandise team worked closely with Aero Health to create customised assistance packs, which contained basic first aid supplies such as bandages, antiseptic cream and burn gel dressings.
More than 1,000 of these packs were donated to areas in Coffs Harbour, Grafton and Rockhampton.
Local Ramsay Pharmacy stores provided the packs to shelters, rural fire service groups and other local community associations.
Some stores also donated basic supplies such as toothpaste and toothbrushes and hampers for firefighters.
Ramsay Pharmacy CEO, Greg Kennedy, said team members felt strongly about helping the communities in which they lived and worked.
“Our people are intrinsically connected to their local communities; many of them know their customers by name and really wanted to help following the terrible bushfire crisis,” Mr Kennedy said.
“We are proud of the Ramsay philosophy ‘people caring for people’; it is a motto we constantly strive to embody through everything we do.”
“I would like to thank all our team members for the support they have provided to their communities during the bushfire crisis, and our thoughts remain with those affected by the blazes.”
